I just love that feeling of fall coming around the corner--a new school year like a life preserver being thrown my way. That hope that we'll finally get our acts together in this new school year and strike the perfect balance of sleep, play, homework, sports, church, and family time. Hopefully not in that order. I get truly excited as I map out everyone's schedules on the calendar, and each day is a sensible square, lined and stacked in a larger square. And even though we'll be busy it will all be there, color coded and predetermined. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE summer and the craziness of going everywhere and doing everything from nature hikes to library fountains, but I am at that point where I need structure. I need that big yellow bus to pull up and these bright new shoes to march on and get carried away! Happy back-to-school!

I understand the feeling. Looks like new socks too!
Love,

Believe it or not, I feel the same way this time of year. I'm ready for some structure. My pristine planner is begging for school to start!
I love the picture. And thank heavens for organized people. They sure pick up the slack for those of that don't plan daily activities more than a day ahead.
Love those little floral peep toes.
Yes, I too am excited for the consistency of Fall. Especially the part that means I will be exercising regularly and not going to collapse from walking up my hill.
lucky! i can't wait to send hazel and lucy to school and have some time to myself.
Hey, I'm betting the cool red ones are Sam's! Have him check out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G8M4vdOdbSs
Red Converse make multiple appearances.
I must admit I was sad to see summer come to an end. As we were walking to school this morning I felt like we were just coming off of a spring break, not a whole summer! Love the new shoes:0)
Love the picture! It's very symbolic. It was hard to watch Alexis go to first grade today, but also kind of a relief
Your kids have great taste in shoes. Impressive. I definitely have mixed feeling syndrome every time school starts. Structure is good but so is free time.
I just really liked this post. So well written and fun with the perfect picture. Love it and I agree with everything you say!
I now know what you mean with Grace starting kindergarten and Laura in preschool.
Those are some super spiffy shoes. Are you teaching your kids to love shoes as much as you do? I agree--I guess the best part of summer is that it's long enough to make us crave those schedules again.
Love the shoes. I could pick out everyone's style. I want a new pair! I always love your fun blogs and to hear your perspective on life.
New shoes that match the personalities. Cute
