I woke up this morning feeling like I need an assignment. My kids and I have reveled in the schedule-free, assignment-free glory of summertime, but it's time to come back to reality. So here's the assignment: blog every day for a month. I've never done it before, but I'm up for a challenge. Finding blog-worthy topics each day may be difficult, so I welcome suggestions.
Wow--I'm so rusty. I keep beginning new paragraphs and deleting them.
I already know my mom is thinking: post pictures. Didn't a whole summer of bright, colorful photographs just happen? It's true. But I've also had some deep thoughts in the last three months, and I don't want to be merely "newsy." So tune in, if you dare.
I promise an eclectic mix, with something for everyone.

I've now made my assignment to comment on each one of these posts. So now you're being held responsible, because if you don't blog, then I can't comment, therefore I won't be able to accomplish my assignment. :) Bring it on!
Well, this will be exciting! I've often wondered if I could do a blog post every single day. But then it seems my blog would become more like my journal. I can't decide if that would be good or not. I will be looking forward to your daily thoughts:)
ooh, very exciting! I can't wait for more peeks into the family I want to become and to hear those deep thoughts.
A couple of ideas. I've been thinking about the same thing myself, since I do feel better when I stay on top of posting in my own, and having a reason to do it every day makes a big difference from what I've found.
First of all, check out nablopomo.com. They are a counterpoint to nanowrimo (national novel writing month)--these guys are the national blog posting month. They encourage their members to write something in their blog every day for a month. In November they do their official month where they give prizes and everything. All the other months, though, they still have people sign up to commit to do it all month. They suggest a monthly theme, too, and daily writing prompts.
Secondly, I found an interesting idea in the blog of a friend of mine (who grew up in our ward, too, from what I understand) where she had a month of topics to run through. I'm thinking of doing that (not entirely sure yet, but maybe). Some of them seem a bit inane, but I find a lot of time I start blogging about something inane and end up pouring out something else when my ADD brain takes over. These are:
Day 1: Introduce yourself
Day 2: Your first love, in great detail
Day 3: Your parents, in great detail
Day 4: What you ate today, in great detail
Day 5: Your definition of love, in great detail
Day 6: Your day, in great detail
Day 7: Your best friend, in great detail
Day 8: A moment, in great detail
Day 9: Your beliefs, in great detail
Day 10: What you wore today, in great detail
Day 11: Your siblings, in great detail
Day 12: What's in your bag, in great detail
Day 13: This week, in great detail
Day 14: What you wore today, in great detail
Day 15: Your dreams, in great detail
Day 16: Your first kiss, in great detail
Day 17: Your favorite memory, in great detail
Day 18: Your favorite birthday, in great detail
Day 19: Something you regret, in great detail
Day 20: This month, in great detail
Day 21: Another moment, in great detail
Day 22: Something that upsets you, in great detail
Day 23: Something that makes you feel better, in great detail
Day 24: Something that makes you cry, in great detail
Day 25: A first, in great detail
Day 26: Your fears, in great detail
Day 27: Your favorite place, in great detail
Day 28: Something that you miss, in great detail
Day 29: Your aspirations, in great detail
Day 30: One last moment, in great detail
I'm looking forward to it.
