Sydney wrote in her journal today about the Tulip Farm:
"I went to the tulip farm. It was fun. I liked the cow ride. I loved it."
So perhaps I should leave it at that.
And refrain from editorializing on the crazy long drive, the heat, the cost of carnival rides, the lines (even for the portapotty), the exhaustion, and the sunburn.
It was fun. I loved it.

just passing through and noticed your book list. I recently finished reading a book titled The Ferry Woman. It was a gift. I never cried like I did reading this piece of non-fiction / fiction. Nice blog.
Great summary. Nice of you to skip the editorial on the many negative points of the day. I was all ready to only let my kids do one ride each. Then Nathan gave me the look of "don't be so cheap, let 'em do it." So I tried to not cry as I saw $12 get blown on 2 minutes of fun.
We haven't been to that place in years! I'm glad you LOVED it:0) Way to be positive Brenda. By the way...i'm glad for the update. Yesterday as I was cleaning the shower I realized that I kept singing over and over, "You've lost that bloggin' feeling. Oh, that bloggin' feeling. You've lost that bloggin' feeling, now it's gone gone,gone.Woah,oh,oh,oh,oh". I had to laugh when I remembered that it was your blog title that got those words into my head:0)
You guys have inspired me to go check this out. I"m not sure about the rain tomorrow though. I'm glad you had fun and that is so great that Sydney wrote about her day in her journal.
Where is this tulip farm? Is it near Portland? Looks like fun was had by all! Love the journal entry.
Oh, my goodness. It was beautiful there, but I imagine it was sooo crowded! Love the pictures, though!
we went last year for the first time and it was gorgeous! i don't know that we will make it this year. i know time is running short! i love the cute pony that sydney is sitting on, too cute!
Woodburn, Oregon, Jolie. It should be about an hour south of here. But on Saturday, it was a little over 2 hours. There were a couple of car accidents, and about 6 miles of tulip seekers lined up to park. When we pulled in and paid for parking, a nice elderly tulip worker tried to wave us through to the exit. Mike laughed hard at her, poor lady.
Beautiful pictures, beautiful kids, beautiful flowers.
The pictures make the whole trip, good and bad, worth it. The negative will soon be forgotten and you'll have the pics, and Sydney's adorable journal entry to remember that "it was fun".
What a beautiful day! We went yesterday (thanks for canceling the meeting!)and it was cloudy and cold, but the tulips were still pretty. I love the pics!
I always say we'll go, and then we never do. I must not want to go very badly...so we'll just enjoy the postives from you and be glad we skipped the negatives!
hey i never did get to go to that this year, we did other things that dya, like cut hair, and have a party.
Sometimes children have the best perspective. Looks like a great time in beautiful scenery.
Love your blog, Brenda. I never heard that term Brendacentric universe before. That's great you knew they meant it as a positive thing.
