did that really just happen?

I tell you, nobody has the power to make or break my day like this kid. Here's what was said:

Berkeley: "Nice sunglasses."

Me: "Oh, yeah. Sorry. I think these are yours."

Berkeley: "I know. They look good on you."

Just took a few seconds to turn my whole day around! Lately I've felt that this stage of parenting rocks! Although I don't think I'll press my luck by borrowing any clothes.

Anybody else have good teenager moments to share?

That is very sweet! I hope when I have teenage boys they are sweet like that!

Well, since I don't have a teenager yet I guess I can't share any "teenage" moments, but yesterday at preschool a little boy told me I looked like a sheep:0)

Makenzie told me I don't embarrass her. That's about as good a compliment you can get when they are this age.

I savor any and all great teenager moments these days! I love seeing their true selves poke through every now and then...you know, the one behind all the hormones :-)

Last night at AHS back to school night one of Anders teachers passed out these little index cards that Anders had filled out with our contact information. It had Jeff's info and then mine. Under my name it said, "I prefer my mom" Oh yeah. I was just glad that Jeff was sitting right next to me so I could boast. I agree, this stage of life is great!

Once I had some cleaning people over and I was giving them instructions, and when I was done Roscoe said, "You handled that really well, Mom. You sounded very professional." And it totally made my day. I was floating for a few hours. Then I realized I had put "Give compliments" on Roscoe's list for the day.

Ask me about those moments in 4 years. Berkeley is a great kid.And I'm sure you were rockin' those sunglasses. After all, you WERE a rockstar!!

Camille will sometimes tell me compliments that her friends give her about me, in way that lets me know she's pleased to have me as her mom. She also is happy to have her friend here at our house and compliments me on how I've decorated it, etc. That goes a long way!
