Happy Birthday, Dear Sammy, Happy Birthday to You!

9 years ago I held my little Samuel Grant and swore nobody would ever call him "Sammy."
Oh, well. It's been a great nine years, kid. You bring excitement into every day. I never know what you're going to think of next. Great job putting your new bike together--I'm sorry I even suggested you might want to wait for daddy to get home. And yes, the pegs are sweet.

Here is my favorite gift-find. Sammy's been collecting state quarters, thanks to Grandma Andrus, so I found this super cool collector's folder/map at Amazon. $8. (Okay, so I guess I still don't know how to add a link.) It's full of details about each state. The kids gathered round and enjoyed it together, except Maia who wasn't fully awake.

Happy Birthday Sam!!! It's crazy to think that I've known that kid since he was three! I hope Jaxon turned out just like him!

Happy Birthday Sam!

The other day I found some folded up pieces of paper in Emma's pant pockets when I was doing laundry. It said "I love Sam" and I was secretly so pleased that her first crush was on Sam Andrus. But then I realized there is a Sam in her class at school. I think it's him and now I'm disappointed. Your Sam is better.

Well Maren has a crush on Sam. Her face gets a little flushed when she flashes him a smile and waves. Way to go Sam for putting your bike together! That's awesome.

Happy Birthday Sam! I can't believe he put that bike together by himself. What a self starter. I think you better start giving away numbers to the little girls, because there will be a line outside your door when he turns 16. I have also heard mutterings of "Sam".

belated birthday wishes sam.

those pegs ARE sweet! glad to see you're still interested in bikes. i remember your dare-devil rides down the stairs of your old house five or so years ago. maybe your parents will let you build a jump in the backyard. (if you need some leverage, just mention that you've heard your dad dug a jump in the backyard of the provo house.)

I remember when I first met you thinking your boys were *so* cute! It made me excited to be having a baby boy :)

Happy Birthday, Sam!!!

Sure love those kids of yours. They're so cute! As far as crushes on Sam-add Abbie to the list of girls who will be lining up. Something about that Sammy that makes him so likeable!

Sam is adorable and smart, but then so are all of your kids. Kudos to him putting his bike together. I would have waited for Daddy!
