Me? I love Costco. I love the way they give their employees good wages, benefits, and holidays off. They are the anti-walmart, which is always a good thing in my book. But if I search my heart I know that what really keeps me coming is the polish dog and soda for $1.50. Can't beat it--well, unless you are IKEA--which is going to have to be a whole other post.
I always ask people what they buy at Costco. It's a store full of hidden treasures. Here are my two favorites, both recent discoveries. Thai rub--it's SO good. Put it on meat, hamburgers, stir it into soups or sauces. Spicy, but mellow. Uncooked tortillas--there is nothing better than watching the air bubble up inside of your fresh tortilla on the electric griddle. Fill it with freshly stir-fried meat and veggies, or top it with butter and cinnamon. Both thai rub and uncooked tortillas are found in the refrigerated deli section. Yum, yum.
So what do you buy at Costco?

I feel like such an insider since I had a Brenda spotting at Costco this week.
I will definitely look for that Thai rub- that sounds really good. And where are the uncooked tortillas? We eat a ton of tortillas I should try those too.
I love the Salmon burgers. Yes, it is just what it sounds. Salmon shaped into a nice round burger size so you can fry it up and put it in a bun. I love 'em. I also love the roasted red pepper and tomato soup. Yum.
Brenda!!! What a crazy coincidence that I found you!!! This is Shannon McDonald from the Aloha 1st ward about 6-7 years ago. This is crazy, when I was sending out my Christmas cards this year I thought to myself that I wished I could send you one and catch up with you, but I had no idea where you were living. I ran into Stacy at Costco the other day and just started missing you guys a lot! Anyways, I found you through a friend of a friend. I have a couple friends who are good friends with Darilyn and even though I don't know her personally I like to read her blog because I think she is so dang funny! I tried to figure out the connection between you two but I am guessing you go to church together? I thought about leaving a comment on her blog one day about the Tiger attack and I saw your comment there, and I when I saw your picture I couldn't believe that it was you!!! So I checked out your site and as soon as I saw your cd covers I knew it was you! I still have that cd :) It was great to see pictures of your kids. Sydney was just a tiny little baby the last time I saw her! Anyways, it was so fun to find you, and I am glad that you are doing well. I have always held a special place for you in my heart and have thought of you often!
Love you lots!

I love their omega 3 eggs, free range chicken stock, organic diced tomatoes, they have the best lemons (actually if you want to pay up the nose, New Seasons has the best lemons), They also have a really good whole wheat hamburger bun. It is healthy and the kids will eat it, and many many more things.
Speaking of groceries, I couldn't find that soup mix you were telling us about the other night. Do you get it at the Cedar Hills Winco or the Orenco Winco?
laundry detergent, wipes, and diapers. BORING!!!!!!!!!! Someday I'll buy Thai rub and other exciting things!
Brenda Brenda Brenda! How fun to read your blog. Are you living in Portland? Love the 10 year entry. You were always my hero growing up! Every so often, I'll bust out singing a roadshow song! So fun to read up on your adventures.

The Thai rub sounds good. I will have to try it. My Costco love is their shelving. I love the one that are wire that you don't have to use any tools to put it together. My food storage and garage are full of them. You can buy accessories at Storables. I love it.
i also buy the chocolate muffins, milk and omega 3 eggs. I love the pistachio nuts there too. I have never got into the polish dogs myself but love the chicken wraps.
Oh Brenda, you have brought out the tetris geek in me again!!! That was my all time favorite game in high school, and I still love it today. I just played and got to 15,144 starting on level 4 - that was fun! Thanks for sharing :)
I bought dried blueberries today. That was fun. And I just waisted my day away playing tetris. What is it about that game that is so addicting.
Remember when we were in college?
I have to admit, I go to Costco for the packaging. It's always so creative. Apples in over-sized egg cartons, liquid dish detergent hand-cuffed to it partner, and those tortillas...two bags inside of a bigger bag...I never would have thought of that.

Lets just say that if you can get it at Costco, I get it there! I love that I can buy cleaning supplies (with the exception of the Kirkland brand wipes which i LOVE!) and not have to buy again for like the rest of the year! I do get the polish dog combo at least once....usually twice a week! I do the tortillas too...its definately an addiction. I'm also addicted to the rotiserie chicken which I get once a month for a good splurge.
My favorites are the fresh parmesan cheese (with the other grated cheese) and the frozen salmon fillets.
I'm making my Costco shopping list for tomorrow, and I'm putting everything everyone suggested on it, minus the diapers (hurray for me!!!) and the wire racks, which I already have and endorse as well!
Thanks for all the tips, girls, so helpful!
