all by myself

My first day alone, left to my own devices and what have I done? Cleaned my laundry room. Which isn't even a big room. Probably should not have taken all day. I need to walk down to get my girls in a half an hour, and I have still not even showered.

For me, upcoming change is always a grand illusion: I'll have more time, I'll exercise, I'll get more organized, I'll become more balanced. But the day is gone. The house looks pretty much the same, save one tiny room. I'm still in my workout clothes, but I haven't worked out. Unless you count scrubbing the floor.

I do love my tidy, tiny laundry room though!

I think you could have taken a picture of it for us! Tidying things up makes you feel good.

Heck, you accomplished something today. That would be a huge accomplishment in my book. Way to go. Me? I followed Merilee around at Costco and watched her buy things. Oh, and I worked too. But I probably should have been cleaning.

Unfortunately I know the feeling all too well! Give me three hours after work to get something done, and I'll more than likely get it done (and enjoy it!) but give me all day... yah, you're lucky if 25% of it gets done. I always have such good intentions at the start of those days, even though history has shown that every one of them turn out the same. What's the definition of insanity again, Mr. Einstein?? :) Oh well!
I'm glad your laundry room is clean! But not as glad as I am that you blog every day now - I enjoy reading! :)

I can't wait for the day, but I suppose I'll do my best to enjoy the here and now.

You looked pretty cleaned up to me when I saw you after school today! Ya know, I felt a lot like you today. I didn't get near as much accomplished as I had hoped. I did make it to Costco though. Yay, me! And Yay You for getting that laundry room all sparkly clean:)

I think a tidy laundry room is a fantastic accomplishment. I can't wait to hear more about what you do with your days.

A few years ago when I was dreaming about the day when all my kids would be in school all day and how wonderful it would be and how MUCH I would get done, a friend said, "Well, you really are just doing all the same things as when your kids are home, you're just doing it alone." That really depressed me. Kinda true.
